The New 42nd Street Studios building is a 10-story rehearsal studio/office/theater complex owned and operated by The New 42nd Street. The building is home to five non-profit performing arts groups, 14 rehearsal studios, the New 42 administrative offices and a 200-seat theater called The Duke on 42nd Street and it is used year-round by a diverse mix of nonprofit dance, theater and opera groups, as well as commercial Broadway musicals and plays. Designed by Platt Byard Dovell Architects, the New 42nd Street Studios building itself was awarded the New York State Association of Architects/AIA Excellence in Design Award.
